1. Picnic in Greenwich Park:

A great way to enjoy Greenwich park is to have an afternoon tea hamper and picnic in the park. If you’re not into afternoon tea, pack your own special meal and bring a blanket to relax and people watch in the park for free.

2. Visit a Museum:

Visiting a museum in London can be free. There are several around this large city, including the controversial British Museum which holds a variety of artifacts stolen from other nations. And Museum of London, which focuses on the history of the Thames, past and present.

3. Admire Amazing Street Art

There are so many areas around the city where you can find, unique works of art. Keep an eye out as some might be tucked away under bridges or down lanes and side streets. Some locations I highly recommend, include the mural of Shakespeare near Borough Market and a mural of community empowerment on the side of a building near the Thornton Heath Fitness Centre.

4. Walk Through Borough Market

A walk through Borough Market is not only a feast for the eyes, but it’s a great way to try some amazing samples from different food vendors. It’s always best to head there during the week, as it can be packed on weekends.

5. Get Views of the City from Sky Garden

There are several places around the city where you can get great views of all the famous landmarks. But none more beautiful than Sky Garden. Interested in visiting? Get access to tickets every Monday. It’s also a great place to be if you love exotic plants and fine dining.

6. Watch the Changing of the Guard

Interested in all things royal? I recommend stopping by Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guard. This is a great free activity that many visitors line the gates to watch at 11am daily.

7. Walk Through Portobello Market

If you want to connect with the people of London, it’s also a great idea to head over to Notting Hill, where you can browse Portobello Market. Walk through Portobello Market, and browse the items from local vendors. From old records and clothes to local food. There is something for everyone.
