This week episode 3 focused on starting the process of getting recruited and hired abroad. Before you get started ask yourself a few questions. Taking this step will help you determine where and how to apply. First you need to ask yourself. Where do I want work? What countries, communities or schools can I apply to that align with my philosophy? Once you’ve answered these questions, seek out the learning environments and the people who can possibly help you to get where you want to be. Episode 3 also included a few resources that would be helpful to teachers starting their journey to relocation. The goal of this episode 3 is to help individual listeners think about the tools necessary to get them noticed, recruited and ultimately hired.

How to Get Recruited and Hired

Episode 3 highlights the importance of taking action to get recruited and hired abroad. In all honesty doing the research to get hired abroad takes a lot of time. But I’ve done some of the work for you. There are a variety of associations and organizations that would be beneficial to teachers interested in recruitment to go abroad. If you’re a U.S. certified teacher the fulbrightteacherexchanges is a great way to take courses abroad. It also allows teachers to participate in research projects and collaborate with other teachers abroad. If you are interested in building a network linkedin is the place to start. There are also a variety of associations connected to international schools that would be helpful to teachers including isaschools.org and internationalschoolcommunity.com.
