I was really surprised by my flight experience with British Airways. I’ve flown with several major airlines in the past, but this is my first time experiencing an airline that was budget-friendly, yet still had a lot of amenities to offer.
Booking the Flight:
Booking my flight with British Airways was a bit of a hassle in the beginning because my bank thought it was a fraudulent charge. Based on the fact that the transaction counts as foreign since I’m in the USA. But once this was situated I purchased my ticket for under $500. I purchased the seats a month later for under $50.
The Food:
I will always be grateful to British Airways for the amount of food they provided. Being an economy passenger I didn’t think we would be treated this well. Traveling with children the best thing is always to keep them fed and that is exactly what British Airways is. Getting on the overnight flight they first gave us snacks, then served dinner with a bottle of wine. On the connection flight snacks and drinks needed to be purchased so I chose to bring my own snacks. On the flight coming back they provided us with never-ending opportunities to eat. From the snacks, to a hot lunch I couldn’t ask for more. But what a surprise I got when they came back around with a Dove chocolate ice cream. Then not even an hour later they came back with tea sandwiches. My children had pre-ordered items brought to them from a children’s menu. They enjoyed the Chicken and pasta, with salad, bread and cheese along with a chocolate mousse that was way better than my “cake”. All meals were provided by Marks & Spencer’s.

Comfort and Extras:
So they’re no Air-Berlin, you won’t get a packet with a blindfold, toothpaste, toothbrush, and ear plugs. But you do get a blanket and a pillow, I would suggest you bring your own blindfold. I purchased economy seats that had decent legroom, but the best feature of the seat was the fact that the seat went farther back than expected. All I can say was I very comfortable for my overnight flight.
