Why Stay in a Hotel:
Staying at a hotel in Barcelona was the way to go for me. Due to ongoing issues with Air B&B in Barcelona, I felt it was only fitting to stay at a hotel. The hotel that worked best for me was Catalonia Atenas. The hotel was modern, located in a great place and had a pool, which is always at the top of my list for amenities. Where is it Located:
The hotel was located in El Clot. The area is located outside the city center, but could be easily accessible by train, tram and bus. As the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona is one of the most popular cities in the region. Because of this popularity the city sees a large group of tourists a year. I wanted to stay in an area with less tourists. This would allow me to experience more neighborhoods and areas with local schools, food markets and shops.
What is Included:
Staying at this hotel came with a lot of pleasant surprises. The breakfast was amazing, served hot every morning with options such as fruits, pancakes and tortillas. With a rooftop pool and a spa at the lower level, this hotel is perfect no matter the time of year you visit. The rooms were also very large and comfortable with a view of Sagrada Familia in the distance. The bathroom was large, clean and very modern. It was certainly worth the money.
How Much Does it Cost:
The cost of staying at Catalonia Atenas for about a week will cost just under $600. There is breakfast also included with the stay. Access to the rooftop pool is open to everyone. If you are interested in visiting the spa, access will cost about $10. There is no additional cost if you book a room with unlimited spa access. You can also book a massage for a variety of price ranges depending on what you are looking for.
Staying Again:
I would definitely stay here again. Not only for it’s location, but for the amenities included and the budget-friendly cost. Although I am afraid of heights, I would love to experience the rooftop pool during the summer months. The hotel is family-friendly and welcoming.
