Where to Stay When you Visit Rome:
Looking for an affordable place to stay when visiting Rome, search no further once you find Hotel Giardino d’Europa. This cozy and tranquil hotel is located outside of the city-center. You can get to the center of Rome in 30 minutes by car and 1 hour and 20 minutes using public transportation. The bus can be caught a 5 minute walk from the hotel and will drop you across the street from the Metro after a 10 minute ride. The metro will get you into the city in about an hour, depending on your preferred stop.
Dining at Hotel Giardino d’Europa:
We chose Hotel Giardino d’ Europa because of it’s affordability and space. It also helped out wallets that breakfast was included. But all hotels have flaws and this hotel is no exception. Our lovely dining experience ended with breakfast. The hotel kitchen isn’t open during the day, so you can only eat breakfast and dinner here. We tried dinner on one occasion and realized why meals after breakfast weren’t very popular. Not only overpriced, but not worth the money due to the lack of quality.
Our Room:
I have to say one of the best things about our room was the amount of space available for my husband and I and our two children. Each child had their own bed. The bed we slept in was large enough for the both of us, which is rare when visiting Europe. We were also pleased with the patio area and sliding door that led from the room to the outdoors. Honestly the perfect to spot for hanging wet swimsuits from the pool.
Hotel Outdoor Area:
Although the meals here were nothing to write home about, the hotel grounds itself were very spacious, yet clean and comfortable. We made use of the pool daily and enjoyed the lovely outdoor dining area. My kids love staying at hotels with pools, so choosing a place to stay in Rome, we had to consider a location that had a pool.
Final Thoughts!
Here are some final thoughts on choosing whether to stay here with your family. Think about whether staying outside of the city-center would be affordable for you and your family. Would it be easier to commute daily by public transportation. Would it be a better location when getting to and from the airport. These are things to consider, especially if you’re on a budget. So for my family Hotel Giardino was the best choice, even considering the minor things that I didn’t care for such as the dinner menu.
