1. Walk Across Tower Bridge

Walking across Tower Bridge is an experience most should try when visiting London. From the views of the Tower of London to the architecture of the bridge itself. Take the route that starts from the Queens Walk access and cross the bridge to Tower Bridge access.

2. Have Afternoon Tea

Having afternoon tea at Fortum and Mason was one of my favorite things to do in London. From the atmosphere to the food, there is something magical about this experience. My best advice is to make your reservations early before arriving in London.

3. Take a Day Trip

Going on a Day Trip from London to the countryside was one of the most exciting moments about my trip to London. I enjoyed visiting Oxford, Bath and Stow-on-the-Wold. Taking a day trip is a great way to see the rest of the country because there is so much more to England than London. A country this rich in history requires a lot of exploration, start with a day trip.

4. Seeing Views from the London Eye

If you’re looking for uninterrupted views of the city of London, the London Eye gives you a panoramic view of the London skyline. With access right at the edge of the Thames, the experience can be booked with londoneye.com. Want to further your experience, it’s also possible to book the London Eye and a Thames River Cruise together.

5. Exploring Tate Modern

A great place to see modern art in London has to be the Tate. Exhibitions such as Yayoi Kusama’s Mirror Infinity Room is a must see. Visiting the Tate, which is located near Bankside Beach is fairly easy. Entry to the museum itself is free, but keep in mind you will have to pay for some exhibits. Exhibits such as Mirror Infinity Room the will cost non-members about $5 to $6.

6. See a Show at Shakespeare’s Globe Theater

If you’re going to be spending a lot of time in London, seeing a show at the Globe Theater is a great way to experience an open air, live theater show. If you’re just interested in visiting, guided tours are available.

7. Picnicking in St. James Park

A picnic in St. James Park is a great way to experience a little calm in a bustling city like London. It’s conveniently located near Buckingham Palace, and can be accessed from The Mall. The park is also a great place for bird watchers. It’s an interesting refuge, filled with winding paths, a café and a lake.

8. Admiring Architecture in Notting Hill

There’s a lot to do and see in Notting Hill, from the book store to Portobello Market. One of the amazing things you will see has to be the architecture of the residences around Notting Hill. Walking around Notting Hill is one way to make sure you don’t miss it.

9. Visiting the British Museum

The controversy of the British Museum and the many stolen artifacts that have yet to be returned was a concern of mine, when I planned my visit. But, if you are interested in visiting and curious about what they have on display, there are many amazing things to see in the Japanese and African Exhibits.

10. Enjoying Views from the Shard

The Shard is an exceptional, architectural marvel located near the Thames in London. Whether by day or night, the glass structure can be seen for miles. Looking out from the Shard will leave you breathless, with amazing views of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The Shard is also home to several offices, restaurants and a hotel.
