Visiting Stockholm:
When visiting Stockholm, the options for food are endless. There are so many places to find international food and traditional Swedish food. My favorite place to find good food definitely has to be the old town of Gamla Stan. I’ve had afternoon tea here, traditional Swedish food, ice cream and pastries. But there’s one place I enjoy most when I visit Stockholm. It has the food and the views and it’s located in the central square of Gamla Stan. The restaurant is called Grilska Huset.
My Favorite Things to Eat:
Where do I begin with the menu, the food at this restaurant is amazingly fresh. The salad bar which is situated on a side table near the entrance has salads, quinoa and beans. There is also a bakery on-site with amazing pastries and bread. There are different options on the entree menu of the week. Last time I visited it was on a day when salmon was being served and I can say it definitely tops my list as some of the best salmon I’ve ever had. Back in 2016 when I visited the restaurant, I only had dessert and tea. I decided to try a few new things when I went back in May of this year.

So Many Sweet Treats:
If you have a sweet tooth Grillska Huset is like dessert heaven. There are so many options for the chocolate lover, or anyone who loves traditional Swedish sweet treats. My favorite has to be the princess cake though. The flavors of the cream and the jam is definitely like nothing I’ve ever eaten before. It’s like eating a slice of sweet pillows. I also found a tiny little passion fruit tart that just melted in my mouth. If I had my way I would eat at Grillska Huset daily. I found it to be a great place for an afternoon break.
What I love About This Place:
Beyond the amazing food that is served at Grillska Huset, the service is optimal and very professional. There’s no hurry to rush people out of the restaurant, even when it comes to the outdoor seating area, which is very popular. Besides the food, the customer service is definitely my favorite reason for coming back to Grillska Huset every time I’m in Stockholm. This restaurant is certainly worth a visit if you decide to travel to Stockholm.
